New Jersey Health Initiatives is a national program
of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
NJHI is dedicated to supporting innovations and driving conversations
to build healthier New Jersey communities.
The Believe in a Healthy Newark (BHN) Initiative will develop Impact Teams that will focus on three areas of health relevant to the Initiative’s target population – the residents of the South and West Wards of Newark. These three areas include: Healthy Homes, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Food and Fitness.
for long-term healthy living
BHN will utilize a collective impact approach that will allow them to identify common measures, develop common interventions, and use assessments of their success to modify and strengthen their initiatives. These areas closely align with the interests and expertise of steering committee members, and it is expected that this work will result in demonstrable improvements of certain health measures enumerated in the County Health Rankings data for Essex County.

Starting at One New York Plaza (in 1986), then to 55 Water Street, then to Two New York Plaza, all in a row, downtown, on the water near South Ferry.

See the building address, here?! We moved the world headquarters (somewhat) uptown. (Over many weekends!)
Years later that building came crumbling down. (Nobody I know was hurt. [I did lose one (ex-Solly) friend, who was at Cantor FitzGerald (at the top of one of the twin towers) in 2001.]) And it has been rebuilt.
